I never thought I’d visit Boston for a music festival. A hockey game? Sure. A Red Sox game at Fenway? Definitely. But a music festival? That wasn’t on the bucket list—until it was.
It all started with Sofia Isella. I fell in love with her music this spring. She’s got that kind of raw angst that gets you through the hard days—real grit with soul. I played her music on repeat, shared her with my friends, and said, “Wherever she’s playing next, we’re going.”

So off to Boston Calling we went.
And Sofia did not disappoint. She performed Saturday afternoon on the Green Stage, and from the moment she walked on, she owned it. She’s classically trained, emotionally tuned in, and a true artist—not a TikTok discovery, but the real deal. That voice? stunning. That stage presence? Electricity. Honestly, she should be opening for someone huge—think Florence + the Machine, or Hozier.
But let’s talk about the venue.
The festival is held at the Harvard Athletic Complex. Yes—Harvard. So now I can officially say, “I went to Harvard,” and honestly, Im gonna just keep saying it.
The venue sold it for me. Hands down.
You step onto that turf field and that massive “H” in the middle of the stadium isn’t just decoration; it’s a symbol of history, power, and pride. You can almost hear the echoes of football chants and lacrosse whistles.
To stand on that field, surrounded by the pulse of music, the cheer of the crowd, and the sun overhead—it’s surreal. You can’t help but imagine what it’s like to play there. To be an athlete sprinting under stadium lights, hearing the roar of fans. Except this time, it’s not for a touchdown—it’s to the drop in your favorite song.
You’re literally dancing where champions have played. And it hits different.

• Green Stage – The main draw with jaw-dropping headliners and crowds that pulse with energy.
• Allianz Blue Stage – A little more tucked away, perfect for emerging artists and more intimate sets.
• Orange Stage – Local talent and discovery zone; chill but never boring.
• Arena Stage – An indoor haven where I caught a Saturday jazz set by Su Yavuz—a cool break from the outside.

And don’t even get me started on the food. I devoured the Green Muenster from Roxy’s Grilled Cheese—loaded with guac and crispy bacon. There were gourmet vendors everywhere—from lobster rolls to Korean fried chicken to craft mocktails.
Boston Calling gave us everything: Sofia, sunshine, turf fields, gourmet eats, and vibes for days.
If you’ve never considered it, change that.
Go for the music. Stay for the venue.
And tell everyone you spent the weekend at Harvard.
