We visited Fairmont Le Chateau Montebello over the Christmas break in hopes of trying all the winter amenities that the property provides. Cross country skiing, snowmobiling, horse drawn carriages rides, there are so many activities offered. What happened was completely different and not at all what we were expecting! We arrived just before the big ice storm hit and ended up staying indoors the whole trip. If ever there is a place to be stuck during a winter storm, we sure lucked out. We’ve been to many Fairmont hotels but this was the first Fairmont Resort (outside of the Fairmont Southampton) that we’ve visited.

Instead of a hotel, we were delighted to find out Fairmont Le Chateau Montebello is a resort and, though we were there for 3 days and two nights, we didn’t even come close to experiencing all the indoor amenities they have. Our favourite, of course, is the massive indoor pool accessible by a tunnel so you don’t have to walk outside. Near the pool is the spa, tennis courts and squash courts.
Like most resorts they have daily activities schedule. From family board games by the fireplace, children’s play area with bouncy castles, outdoor jungle course, arcade, kid’s bingo, cookie decorating; the list of activities went on. For adults, there are a variety of things to do throughout the day as well; I did my first Aqua Zumba class which was more of a workout than I anticipated and so much fun!
There was even a movie night with free babysitting! You can check the kids in and have a date night. The free babysitting is about two hours but parents can purchase additional hours as needed.
At the activities centre you can book your activities but also borrow board games. It was a popular activity for all families to find a spot around the fireplace.

We were inside the property from check-in to check out and we did not run out of things to do. I’m hoping to go back again to take advantage of the snow related activities we had originally planned on but I’m glad we got a chance to get an in-depth look at all the indoor amenities offered. I can 100% say you can be inside this property for 2 full days and not run out of things to do. The best part? Our kids didn’t once complain about being bored!
I received a media rate at this property but as always all opinions are my own.
