We did an impromptu stay at the Best Western Plus Cairn Croft Hotel. We were on our way to New York for New Year’s Eve to meet up with friends, and right before we got to Niagara Falls, the traffic updated us that there was an accident and we’d be stuck in traffic for a while. So we decided to turn off and quickly looked up hotels in Niagara then made our way to the Best Western Plus Cairn Croft Hotel. We were going to stay one night and then continue on our way or go back home but ended up staying a few nights. I don’t know if it’s because we hadn’t researched it ahead of time and didn’t plan to go, and we were sure what to expect, but it was such a treat. The kids loved everything about it.

If you get a room that opens up to the courtyard, you can sit on the patio while the kids play in the arcade. The courtyard feature was a huge hit with us; we picked up food and then came back and sat in the courtyard and had lunch. There is a grocery store and other amenities within walking distance.

As I mentioned, we were pleased with all the amenities for kids. The swimming, playground and arcade kept the kids busy. I loved the courtyard feel where you can sit and relax after hanging out in the pool. Our kids were nine and five at the time, and they both had a great time.
I would highly recommend this hotel as your base whether you plan to explore Niagara proper of Niagara-on-the-Lake, which is just 25 min drive from this hotel. The #1 feature of this hotel is the affordability, I feel like I got the most bang for our buck, and it wasn’t as overwhelming as a full-on waterpark. For us, we didn’t want to be around many people, so its size was perfect.
