Fern Resort all year long

We’ve been going to Fern Resort for a few years now and have loved it every single time. In the beginning I loved it for the kids club because, as a mom who works from home and then spends the rest of the time bringing the kids to extra curricular activities, I LOVED that at Fern I could have a vacation with kids and a break at the same time without having to go too far from home.  Fern is roughly 1.5 hours away from Toronto and sits on the beautiful lake Couchiching. In summer watersports, the beach, and the pool are a hit. From trying to walk in a giant bubble on the lake to going for hikes on the trails. The list of things to do in summer is very very long – we never ran out of things to do.

In the fall, we loved the Halloween celebrations, the pretty fall walks and the indoor pool.

In winter the activities seem endless, from skating on the lake or through the forest, cross country skiing, mini snowmobile, and indoor activities like water painting and yoga all made the vacation relaxing and fun.

In spring, we enjoyed tapping for maple syrup, hanging out at Marylou’s for family bingo and all year round we loved the evening entertainment and shows.

So whether you are going in summer, winter, spring or fall, Fern Resort offers up some great programming for kids, amazing babysitting and childcare for younger kids, and delicious healthy meals.

One of my favourite things about Fern is the table seating. When you arrive you’ll be given your table for the entire visit. This means no waiting to find out where you’ll be sitting for meals.  When you go in for meals during the scheduled times you can go directly to your table. The fact that it’s an all-inclusive option is great, too, this means you pay once and don’t have to worry about anything at all during your visit.  The menu changes every day but still offers the usual favourites and gives you a chance to try something new.  We love Fern Resort!
